Since its inception in July 2024, Abhisarika Foundation, headquartered in Maithon, Dhanbad, Jharkhand, has been actively engaged in grassroots interventions across 52 villages within the Bundu block, Ranchi district. The organization’s core operational areas encompass Natural Resource Management (NRM) at the village and panchayat levels, Self-Help Group (SHG) and youth entrepreneurship development, implementation of adaptive agricultural techniques for enhanced livelihoods, promotion of local art and culture, and educational initiatives.

In the domain of community upliftment and sustainable development awareness, Abhisarika Foundation has conducted various programs, including youth engagement through the International Day of Yoga and International Youth Day celebrations. The establishment of “Ek Gaon Ek Library(GRAMIN PUSHTAKALAYA)” as a core project has facilitated the creation of village libraries, complemented by initiatives such as a youth essay competition supported by the Indian Postal Service.

Within NRM and soil conservation, the foundation’s interventions include facilitating the development of orchards and potato cultivation (albeit with localized adoption), alongside capacity building for SHGs in collective farming practices. The development of a dedicated training center at Abhisarika Farms, Kanchi, further supports these agricultural and livelihood initiatives. To enhance its capacity in supporting rural livelihoods, the organization invested in staff training at the Indian Institute of Agriculture Biotechnology (IIAB) focusing on Dairy Technology, aimed at assisting farmers in establishing village-level dairy enterprises.

Furthermore, Abhisarika Foundation is actively exploring avenues to address the educational needs of students in the mining-affected regions of Dhanbad and the challenges faced by migrant laborers displaced due to mine closures. The organization’s future scope also includes addressing environmental concerns such as urban heat island effects and pollution in the Dhanbad urban agglomeration.

Since July 2024, Abhisarika Foundation has been empowering communities across 52 villages in Jharkhand, focusing on vital areas like natural resource management, sustainable agriculture, youth entrepreneurship, and education. Our grassroots efforts, including village libraries and farmer support programs, are fostering tangible change. To expand our reach and deepen our impact in areas like supporting mining-affected families and addressing environmental challenges in Dhanbad, we seek your generous support. Your contribution will directly enable us to scale our initiatives and build a more resilient and empowered future for these communities. Join us in making a lasting difference.
